Romantic Spots in the New Forest
At this time of year, all thoughts turn to romance thanks to Valentine’s Day, spring and the changing of the seasons. If you’re looking for places to stay in the New Forest and want to visit some romantic spots, then look no further. The Bell can help!
Relaxation, wildlife and nature. We can’t think of anything better. Hop in the car and in around half an hour you will reach Hatchet Pond on the outskirts of Beaulieu. Here you and your special someone can sit and relax, take in the beauty of nature, watch the grazing donkeys and quite possibly meet our famous ponies. There are plenty of walks nearby too with some prime spots for a picnic or a break.
Bolton’s Bench can be found on the east side of Lyndhurst, just 20 minutes’ drive from our Inn. Renowned for being one of the New Forest’s most famous picture-perfect landmarks you’ll seldom have this spot to yourself due to its popularity. Expect lawns, a large yew tree and a small hill full of wildlife – don’t forget your camera!
This 600-year-old tree measures more than seven metres round and is known locally as the ‘Queen of the Forest’. Once you see it in person, it’s not hard to see why! Before you reach it, you can enjoy the Ornamental Drive which is home to some of the tallest trees in the area. Hop out the car after your 30-minute drive from The Bell and you can explore the Tall Tree Trail by foot – it’s a wonderful 1.5 mile walk that’s been made for you both. Don’t forget your camera and some snacks!
If you have a furry companion, then why not consider one of The Bell’s walking holidays with dogs? We can offer local advice, a comfortable place to stay and an unforgettable getaway. We know how much your canine companion can mean to you both…
